The New GM Camaro viewed by someone who remembers.

I saw all the oopla this week concerning the coming of the new GM camaro. I come from Ste-therese neighbor city of Boisbriand where the camaro used to be built till 2002. At this time General Motors decided that the plant was no longer needed as per GM words " the public don't want this model anymore". Let me remind some of you that GM had contracted huge loans in order to finance the revamping of their paint shop and if my memory serves me well this loan has never been paid back to the citizens of quebec. I my immediate family over 5 people used to work at this plant some for over than 25 years and they are now hardfully still trying to relocate. The part of the news which irritates me the most is that the strongest candidate to build the new and improved camaro is a plant in Oshawa. ontario.

so long story short GM put over 1000 people out of a job, closed down and shaved an existing plant basically ruined one city economy and now they expect us to jump of joy with this new Model.

For this I hope people will remember the folks who build the Camaro back in the days.
